WORKING AT 4SURE AG

Since 2021 I have been working at 4sure AG in Basel in the field of yard management and plant maintenance software.

In addition to the many soft skills I was able to develop, I also gained a very useful understanding of SAP in the field of logistics and dangerous goods. Finally, I passed the ADR/RID Dangerous Goods Adviser exam.

Looking back on those years, I can say that I am now comfortable handling large-scale, multi-stakeholder projects and have a better understanding of how large companies like our clients work. I am looking forward to further developing my skills and optimising my work.

Those years taught me valuable lessons in dealing with difficult situations, managing a team of developers and customer relations. These skills melted together in various projects that took place in Switzerland and Germany, with me travelling there on many occasions.

STUDYING DATA SCIENCE

When it came to deciding what to study, I also asked myself: how to study? So I decided to study Data Science at the University of Applied Sciences Northwestern Switzerland.

Mix in theoretical foundations from statics and mathematics, add some machine learning and professional skills such as visual design, and you get Data Science at FHNW. The willingness to constantly present students with real-world problems in the form of challenges or projects is what makes this degree so tailor-made for me.

The things I have learnt during my studies at FHNW have influenced my critical thinking and the way I look at data. On top of that, we are constantly presented with real-life experts on various occasions and also get the chance to gain valuable experience working on real projects with clients.

During the Data Hackdays we had the opportunity to hold a hackathon in a very nice setting, the city hall of Bern. During these days, we met very interesting people from different backgrounds and we were united in the quest to make our contribution to various topics related to the digitisation of the canton.
